Information we collect
Orders and payments
When you buy a paddle or other product through our Shop, we collect your name, email address, shipping address, and billing address to process and deliver your order. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe — we do not store your full card number on our servers.
Directory sign-ups (courts, clubs, coaches, partners)
If you submit a court, club, coaching profile, or partnership application through our sign-up forms, we collect the information you provide — such as your name, email, phone number, business or club name, and location — to review and, if approved, publish your listing publicly on the site.
AI Paddle Advisor
Our AI Paddle Advisor tool lets you answer questions to get a paddle recommendation. Your responses and chat messages are sent to Anthropic (the provider of the Claude AI model) to generate a reply. We do not require you to submit personal information to use this tool, and we recommend you avoid entering sensitive personal details into the chat. See Anthropic’s own privacy policy for how they handle data sent to their API.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for core site functionality (such as keeping items in your cart) and to understand how visitors use our site, via Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit). This may involve data being processed by Google. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Account information
If you create an account (My Account), we store your name, email, and order history so you can log in and track past purchases.
How we use your information
- To process and fulfil orders, and provide customer support
- To review and publish directory submissions (courts, clubs, coaches, partners)
- To respond to enquiries sent through our contact or sign-up forms
- To operate the AI Paddle Advisor and improve the site experience
- To understand site usage through analytics, so we can improve the site
- To meet legal and accounting obligations
Who we share data with
We share data with the third parties needed to run the site and fulfil orders: our payment processor (for checkout), our hosting provider, Google (for analytics), and Anthropic (for the AI Paddle Advisor feature). We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.
How long we keep your data
We retain order and account information for as long as needed to meet accounting and legal obligations. Directory listing submissions are retained for as long as the listing remains active on the site, or until you ask us to remove it.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to remove a directory listing, by contacting us at hello@pickleballsea.com. We’ll respond within a reasonable time.
Children’s privacy
PickleballSEA is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children without parental consent.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
