Best Paddles for Doubles Play
Doubles rewards a different skill set than singles — your paddle choice should reflect that.
Doubles rewards a different skill set than singles — your paddle choice should reflect that.
Doubles — by far the more common format, including at nearly all recreational and league play in Malaysia — is won primarily at the kitchen line through dinks, resets, and quick reflex volleys.
| Spec | Why It Helps in Doubles |
|---|---|
| 16mm control-oriented core | More dwell time for consistent dinks and soft resets under net pressure |
| Widebody shape | Larger sweet spot helps handle fast reflex volleys from close range |
| Mid-weight (7.5-8oz) | Balances quick hand speed at the net with enough mass to block hard drives |
| Polymer honeycomb core | Softer feel gives more touch on dinks and third-shot drops |
